Roger N. Larson, age 81 of Minto, ND, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his home in Minto.

Roger Larson was born on August 25, 1939 in Marshall County, MN, the son of the late Ragn and Agnes (McQuire) Larson. He started school in Warsaw, ND until the family moved to the San Diego area of California. Following his education, he worked constructions, helping on pipelines, missile sites, Altru and the beet plant. He was united in marriage to Jeannette Miller on August 25, 1960. The couple made their home in Oslo, MN. He started working for the Grand Forks Herald where he eventually became a circulation supervisor until retiring in 1997. The couple moved to Minto in 1997 and Jeannette passed away on September 2, 2003.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on word finds, going to the casino and volunteering with the Walsh County Social Services. Roger loved to tell anyone he could his famous 'SUBWAY' joke.
Roger is survived by his children: Jon (Diane) Larson, Jasper, IN, Kelly Gowan, Grand Forks, ND, Scott (Nicki) Larson, Minto, ND, Traci (Mike) Brown, Minto, ND and Darlene Nethery, UT; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and bonus grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Fred Heinz, wife, daughter-in-law Diane, and siblings Jim and Maryann Heinz.
A memorial visitation will be Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton from 5-7 PM. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks will be required.
